Requirements & minimum age
To get a Class G graduated instruction permit in Arizona, you must be at least 15 years, 6 months and apply in person at the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division (ADOT MVD). Applicants under 18 generally need a parent or guardian to sign, and many states also require enrollment in or completion of a driver-education course.

What happens after you pass (graduated licensing)
You must be at least 15 years and 6 months old to apply for the Class G graduated instruction permit. While driving on the permit you must have a licensed driver 21 or older in the front passenger seat, and you must hold the permit for six months or until you turn 18 before you are eligible for a driver license.
